WORLD PREMIERE!

JUNE 29 AT THE NEWSEUM, WASHINGTON, D.C.

About

It’s campaign season in Washington, DC. Time to shake hands, hand out swag and beg for votes, but this is not your ordinary campaign.

Our documentary is a story about drag queens, American royalty and government bureaucrats. It follows Muffy Blake Stephyns, a DC drag queen with high aspirations. She’s a part of the Imperial Court of Washington, DC, a philanthropic drag organization. Every year, the court elects an emperor and an empress as figureheads to lead the group and pick the charities it supports. The documentary follows Muffy, both in and out of drag, from performing to working at the Department of Labor. Throughout the year, Muffy campaigns for empress, dreaming of becoming the Queen of the Capital.
